Critical illness insurance pays a lump-sum benefit directly to you upon diagnosis of a covered condition. The benefit payment is tax-free, and you can spend it any way you wish.
This plan has been created exclusively for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community. Most other critical illness plans do not cover any covered conditions resulting from the risks associated with warfare or service in the CAF. With this plan, you are covered.
Your benefit amount is tax-free, and you can spend it any way you wish. Common uses include paying off debts, home adaptation, childcare, investment, vacation, supplementing your pension, or lifestyle changes.
When you purchase coverage for the whole family, including dependent children, you are buying peace of mind knowing you will have some extra financial resources to help you through a difficult time.
You and your spouse can apply for up to $300,000 in coverage, subject to underwriting. You can apply for $5,000 or $10,000 in coverage for your children.
Multiple Event Coverage
No one knows the value of critical illness insurance better than someone who has already received a benefit payment. The Multiple Event Coverage Benefit allows insured members and spouses to claim multiple times for separate and unrelated covered conditions.
AdvanceCare Benefit
The AdvanceCare Benefit will pay 10% of the total benefit amount for coronary angioplasty and several early stage cancers. The payment of the AdvanceCare Benefit will not affect the benefit payment for a covered condition. This benefit is not available to dependent children.
Claims at TuGo
Should you choose to use private medical facilities, Claims at TuGo may help you make your money go considerably further than if you personally arrange medical treatment. Note that utilization fees may apply.
Portability
Other insurance plans can terminate if you change careers, with this plan your insurance stays with you, no matter where life takes you.
